Mike Zarandona

Mike Zarandona is a technologist, photographer, web developer, and nerd-rockstar. He has worn many hats in the IT field – including web developer, systems administrator, IT manager, and technical support specialist. From professional accolades to building frankenstein home media PC’s in the garage, Mike is at high demand in his field.

Shortly after Mike was born in 1983 he was introduced to the internet at an early age. Those first glorious 56k-dial-up days instilled in him a fascination for the series of tubes that was the web. Mike has studied development for the web and PC for many years – not first at university but at home through books and self-study how-to websites. Instructor-led study came later for more advanced topics; by age 13 Mike was publishing his first static pages with rudimentary HTML and the first inklings of CSS.

Later in life Mike came into his own running the Information Services department at Telemanagement Forum in Morristown, New Jersey. There he was tasked with hardware deployments, internal and external IT support, as well as coordinating IT infrastructure for a large scale rollout for the yearly conference in Nice, France.

After proving himself as an IT manager, Mike decided to change gears and help launch a start-up web design & development company called DesignedForDotCom. After two years of successful web development work, Mike decided to leave the group to persue greater challenges.

Hi, and welcome. My name is Mike Zarandona, and this is my personal website. I live in northern New Jersey, and I’m an avid technology enthusiast. Life for me begins with the most basic of vices – the ever present hunt for that elusive perfect cup of coffee and the latest & greatest in gadgetry. I’m an avid guitar player and music lover, and venture out to concerts and shows whenever possible. I’m also a (junk) foodie, and can’t think of a better spent Saturday than getting lost on the way to a distant town seeking out a locally famous burrito.

To pay the bills I’m a professional geek with over 15 years of experience in web development, hardware and software desktop support, and all-around “IT guy” services. I even co-founded a company to pursue the professional development & design of websites. I have attended DeVry and Montclair State Universities, and have taken many self-led and online courses on my continuing path to Information Technologist guru-dom. I have worn many hats – such as web developer, web admin, SEO specialist, software debugger, IT support manager, networking guy, blogger, Mr. fix it, remover of viruses, laptop trainer and behaviorist – among many others, and I’m always looking for the next challenge.
